My humble entry for the competition.

Before we start apologies if a couple of the pictures are too large, but for some reason the picture editor on photobucket will not resize them properly, no
matter what I do.

The base model is a standard Trofeu model of a Ford Escort Mk11 finished in the Lombard RAC livery.  It suffers from some decal damage, small crack in
side window, a damaged wheel and a couple of small paint chips.

Body removed from base

Wheels removed and roll cage cut out for modifying

Blue seat belts are difficult to come by so they were carefully removed and saved for re-use

Old livery removed, as the white base coat is the correct colour for the new model there was no need to strip down to bare metal.  The two small chips
were  touched in with spray gun, luckily they were both in unobtrusive places so no respray necessary, blended in fine..

Rear spoiler removed, sanded down ready for colour change.

Small crack in window assembly glued and polished, now unoticable.

Roll cage and rear spoiler cleaned sanded down and resprayed correct colours.

Interior detailed, correct colour seats and seat belts, dashboard, fuel tank, etc.

A full set of spotlights prepared and spayed correct colour, ready for fitting.

I did not bother  with any pictures of the livery being applied ( actually it was such a pig to do that I only thought about it too late). Correct coloured
wheels were refitted, windscreen wipers and aerial added and other body detail finished.  It may not look a very involved project but believe me it does
take a long time to achieve this standard of finish.

Pictures of the completed model, Robert Droogmans Ford Escort RS1800 from the 1983 Rally du Condroz.  Note the full set of spotlights for the night
stages with the correct Lucas 20/20 covers.  It even sports the "Wales " sticker on the rear ( I have not been able to find out why they carried this).
From a standard Trofeu offering to a very rare Belga liveried Escort.  The funny thing is that "Belga" is a Belgium Cigarette brand but this livery seems to
have slipped through the Advertising Police.
