I was just reading todays paper when a courier knocked with a large parcel for me. I haven't bought anything that big. The box itself was an A4 paper box. Inside was a Vanguards Capri and enough bubble wrap to cover my 2 seater couch.
I decided to see how many the box would hold..... 12 cars. It cost £6.50 next day delivery, I only paid £2.75. . The car cost me £19.75 inc p+p.
A touch of overkill maybe. I recently got a package that was 'trussed up" with packing tape and bubble wrap so much so that it took me for ever to get the contents out without damaging them. Maybe the sender had shares in the tape company. Ah well, better that than inadequate packing and a damaged item.
Hey Corgi Kid your wall-paper looks just t it _________________ "Watch out Kessie's about"

Well, I just recieved a parcel from UK, and I consider most of it only good for spares. It was very well packed, and does not seem squeezed. In it a Lincoln Continental, described by the seller as:
CAR IS IN FAIR TO GOOD CONDITION, AND HAS BATTERY HOLDER, IT IS MISSING PASSENGER SIDE FRONT JEWELLED LIGHTS AND FRONT DOOR, AND DRIVER SIDE END OF FRONT BUMPER AND PASSENGER SIDE END OF REAR BUMPER, NO INTERNAL TV SCREEN, AND IS OTHERWISE COMPLETE, SEE PICTURE FOR CONDITION.
As you can see in the picture the car broke in two, but glazing and wheels can be used.
Further a CORGI 1148 CARRIMORE Mk.1V CAR TRANSPORTER WITH SCAMMEL CAB, THIS MODEL WAS PRODUCED FROM 1969 TO 1970, IT IS IN GOOD CONDITION, SOME WEAR TO PAINT WORK AND COMPLETE EXCEPT FOR 4 TYRES, OTHERWISE SEE PICTURE FOR CONDITION, SEE PICTURE
As you can see one of the deck supports is broken, further it is missing five tyres, and the glazing of the truck was pushed in, not visable in the picture.
Don't really know what to say about those, Keesie. I would not even have the nerve to sell something in that condition. _________________ Regards, Sandie.
Die feine Modeltechnik. Fragen Sie danach.
The seller sells mainly other stuff, not diecast. The truck/trailer was about 12 pounds, the Lincoln only one pound. Still, his description of both items was not very well. Also he wanted to charge me 9 pounds at first for signed for, which I refused. (was not in the add anyway), so he charged me about 5 to send to Corgi Kid. Corgi then sent it to me, paid the extra postage (thanks Gary). The extra postage was about .......5 pounds.
