Could not find the thread of this, which I rote a long time ago.......
A lot of things happened this week. But today was something else. Final day at school, and I got a lot of small prezies, and compliments from the director.
Then I went home, where there was a letter from court. After 2 1/2 years they came to the conclusion that the counsil I worked for have to pay me 16.000 euro. Heaviest taxed, 50 %, it leaves 8000. I spent 3000 on a louzy lawyer, which leaves 5000. I had several other expenses, calls, paper, petrol, so I think in the end it will be 4000 euros. I will now have to send them a letter that I give them 6 weeks to pay. After that I have to call an agency to try to cash in.
The court wrote further they do not want to ask the other party to write a new letter of dismiss, because it is 2 1/2 years ago since I was fired, and I have proven that I can get a job even without that dismiss letter.
As you figured, I am not at all satisfied with this. But I can now more or less leave it behind me, I guess.........

| It doesn't sound a good deal, and it's frustrating that you will only end up with a quarter of the money. I hope the other party pay up promptly, and as you can say, you can put all this behind you. At least you have been shown to be in the right. |

Thanks, I never went purely for the money really, but that counsil wanted to squeeze me out, and taking money off my wages, as a punishment, while I was never sick or at home. At least I got my money out of it that I put into it.
All I can say now is, that this counsil is paying for my holidays in Britian.....and that feels very satisfactionary, believe me! |

I know this has been an ordeal but it is over.
A friend's parents passed away and they worked so hard all their life. They invested correctly, played their cards right and ended up with a total estate value of approximately 6,000,000.00 USD. There are three children. The government right away took half. 3,000,000.00 USD. Does that seem fair? That money was taxed once when his parents made it and now he had to pay half of it again. I guess the government is strapped to pay for tanks, planes, and bullets. _________________ A Lover Of Old Toys Great and Small.

Very true Nile, very true. It can be even worse.
My wife had an old uncle, no other relations than her. He passed away. In his will it was said that 90 % of his money was meant for charity, so off went about 400.000 euros. There was about 15.000 left, of which the grave and ceremony, agency that sold the house etc. had to be paid form. Then there was about 7.000 left. Because my wife is 'only' a relative of the 'third category', they charged the highest tax, which was about 65 %. So she got about 3.000 euros. Believe it or not, then the taxman found out the uncle did not pay enough tax over a period of 3 years, which was about 900 euros. Yes sir, 2100 euros left. She wrote a letter in which she begged the tax to take the whole amount, but after about 5 months there is still no reply.
We had to clean the house before it was sold..... |

I had the same problems when my sister died the solicitors fees are bloody stupid, they were charging me £100 a letter. They were sending the same letter to my other sisters and brothers which i could have told them over the phone. What rip off merchants they are.
