Talking of post counts/rankings, who`s going to be the first to get 1001 & a super duper ranking image? :)
Toyscout is looking the most promising at the moment!

Sandie`s score doesn`t count `cos she`s admin, & we have `flashy` ones ;)

Hadn't even noticed that til' you brought it up Neil. I always figured no one bothered to pay attention to my blathering anyways, and at times feel self concious for posting stuff I figure nobody would be interested in. I'll wear mittens for a while when I'm on here so I can't post and someone else can have the honors. Daniel? You're up. Better get busy!

Jeff, you know you can't resist a good topic. So let me Start one. I have a new aquaintance from the internet. He has just joined the forum and I hope he will be accepted later today. His user name in callshadow. He reproduces boxes for almost any diecast toy car/truck you can think of and I have invited him into the forum. Hope to see some posts from him and I am sure he will be asking questions, SSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOO, Jeff, I hope you watch and help him out with your vast knowledge.
By the way Jeff, I would still like one of your Jaguar XK120 Coupe Restorations. Any idea when you might be listing again? JN

Hi
It's good to be part of such a fantastic site. I'm looking forward to learning a lot about diecasts and diecast restoration ( although I haven't actully attempted any as yet )
My name is Jim and I live in Perth, Western Australia. I'm originally from Scotland - hence my interest in British cars. My interest in diecasts is fairly recent, although I have collected British car brochures since I was a youngster.

I buy most of my cars on Ebay. Lots of bargains but postage and packing bumps up the cost. Some sellers are charging a lot more than reasonable posting and packaging costs these days - but I'll leave that argument for another post.
I am mainly interested in British cars - mostly BMC/BL/Rover etc, but now seem to have widened my net a little and now have a few Fords in my collection. I mostly buy Vanguards, old Corgi and Dinky cars but am always on the lookout for British car models made by other companies. I also have collected most of the Gerry Anderson tie ins that my parents couldn't afford to buy me when I was a kid - I'm 45
Diecasts are pretty expensive here in Oz - Vanguards cost around 13 - 15 British pounds. Locally produced cars tend to be pricey - it's a lot smaller market I suppose. Old diecasts are quite hard to find, and again, tend to be pretty expensive.

Anyway, I'm starting to ramble - will leave it there for now

Regards. Jim

From One Jim to another, Welcome to the forum. I am at the other end of the planet from you in British Columbia, Canada. :bigsmurf: I joined in March? of '06 and have had a wonderful time of it here. The topics are great and the ideas are good for creativity. I to am recently into restoring and collecting. I have had Dinky's since I was a kid (now 56) and love them. I buy sell restore and trade them. Don't have any fear of asking questions as you will find we are all free with our answers and help here. Feel free to ask just about anything (some discretion is needed as there are some pretty hot chicks on this site)LOL but as far as diecast is concerened all is fair game.:D Again Welcome to the site and enjoy.Jim in Canada.

Welcome Jim, its always great to have a new member - better still one from overseas who can let us know about diecasts from their part of the world!

Don't hold back, lets hear about your collection and believe me when I say - if you need any help at all getting started with your own restorations, you are in the right place!!
