Hello Viktor, a warm welcome to the Forum. Thanks for joining us, I'm sure you'll find this the best place on the internet to discuss our hobby. It would be great to hear a bit about your collection and if you are able to post some photos here - even better (use the 'Attach File' link)! :D What diecasts do you collect and what did you play with when you were younger?

Welcome to our Forum, Viktor. It's really good to have you with us, and we're all looking forward to reading your posts, (and, hopefully, as Duncan says) seeing some pictures of your collection. :D

Wow, am I the only American in here?....can't be. My name is Steve Streeter (if you look at the name on the back of the jersey on my avatar, it says "S. Streeter.......clever, huh?). I'm from Indiana, USA. I only just recently got into "recollecting/restoring" Matchbox cars. I had quite a few of them when I was 7-8 years old (I'm currently 42). My mom found some of them, returned them to me (they were in pretty bad shape) and with the help of friend who collects/restores Hotwheels....I'm slowly getting back into it. I also enjoy Golf, American football, and playing games with my family (card games and board games). I'm looking forward to having alot of fun and clever conversation in here.

Welcome, Steve, don't worry, you aren't the only American on here, we have members from all over, America, Canada, Austrialia, Finland, Holland, Germany, we're a truely International bunch of Misfits!
Good to have you on board, and I hope you'll enjoy the Forum.
I have a few Matchbox cars for sale if your're interested? My main collection consists of Dinky, Corgi, Vanguards, Hongwell ect., but I am slowly getting into "Trax" models, (Austrailian), they make a lot of Holdens and similar Aussie cars that we never see over in the U.K.
1/43 scale is my preffered scale, but I do have a few larger (and smaller) models that I keep.
I also have a few Tinplate Toys, and some Diecast Locomotives!

A warm welcome Steve. You'll find this forum a wealth of information. Every conceiveable question you have about restoring can be answered here. There is, however, a price to be paid. The daft banter that comes with the answer can sometimes seem a bit odd to the uninitated but hey, it keeps us smiling!

I am loaded to the gills with daft banter, should fit right in, lol. Nothing wrong with a little wit and silliness whilst getting to the more serious issues of seeking true wisdom to be applied for our diecast pleasures. A bit long-winded, but I'm sure you all know what I mean. Hey, did you hear the one about.........

I just joined yesterday. I am new to this field of collecting. I have and still collect 1969 PSA American football cards, Comic books and now, Corgi Cars. I joined so I could learn more about the art of restoring some of these aged but still beautiful pieces of work. I am 49, single, I live in Northern California. I teach physical education to elementary school children. I live with and care for my 89 year-old Mom. I enjoy collecting of course, healthy eating, fine red wine, exercise, and taking saunas and getting massages when I can afford them. I ride a mountain bike and live close to the Golden Gate Bridge. I like to fix things and help my mom out with her garden. When I was a boy my mom bought me a Corgi 330 Porsche Carrera. I found it years later when I was cleaning out the basement. I started thinking about trying to improve its looks and got hooked on the idea of restoring them I have about forty of this model car in varying conditions. 99% were bought from the UK on ebay So here I am. I appreciate any help anyone could give on restoring these cars. I have the basic idea but I need your expertise on the finer points. I am happy to be joining this community and look forward to chatting with many of you:-D

Hi Quinn & . Did I read that right, you have 40 Porsche Carreras? WOW - do you collect any other vehicles or just that one - they're not all Corgi are they?

Well, I hope you enjoy the forum here - there are plenty of talented guys here willing to help out a fellow restorer so hopefully you'll find what you are looking for. If you can why not post some photos of your collection?
