What a mess Keesie.

The first posting on this thread............I can't imagine anyone shipping something in that big of box. What a waste of space. Shipping cost and all that.

When I told the seller about the state I got the models in, he said "we" should lay a claim with the Royal mail. I asked how to do that, and after 2 days I got a reply from the seller:

Hi,  as you have sent them on from England to Holland you will need to claim from the last postal supplier and if it is the Royal Mail Gary Turner will need to make the claim, other wise you will need to contact your courier company and see what there policy is,  and you will need to keep all packaging and contents as evidence for your claim, Steve

(don't worry Gary, nothing will happen to you!)

So I just sent a mail to Ebay-UK, with the full correspondence, and the picture of the broken parts. Just in case anyone wants to know, here are the links.

I did warn you what this seller was like Kees. His explanation is dreadful as you stated that the damage can be observed in the sellers pics. I would just leave neg feedback and claim from paypal. why should you have to claim from the Post office. Thats the same excuse he gave me . Boll*cks!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Gary, of course I would not contact the postoffice, neither the Dutch or the Uk, because that would lead to nowhere.
I already sent a mail to Ebay Uk with the complaint, about opening a dispute.

Some might think it is just a small amount to open a dispute about. That is besides the point, because the seller is obviously not into old models, and doesn't have any knowledge about these items, obviously. Therefore I think he should not have stated the models are in 'fair to good condition'.

Not too sure how the Forum would stand legally, but perhaps we should open a "Name and Shame" Board of dodgy and downright dishonest Sellers?

To offset that list we could also have a "Star Seller" list of First Class genuine Sellers.

Sandie I think your Idea is a great one. How many times have our members been sold short with damaged or misrepresented goods. Also It would be nice to know our forum members Ebay usernames. I think I have seen them somewhere but cant find them.

Yes Dean, I realize that. The wheels and tyres, steering could be used for spares, still not bad for 99 cents, but I don't feel good about it.

I would wonder how many times a seller sends an item that was broken before he shipped it and also with full knowledge of the broken item, he shipped it knowing this and then making the post office pay for it by asking the buyer to make a claim. By the same token how many times a buyer has an identical item that is broken and substitutes his broken one for the one he has bought thereby making a claim against the already beleaguered post office and getting a nice unbroken item free.
