HI

my name is Alexander, 28 years old, from Paderborn in Germany.

I´ve been invitetd to join by Daniel from England- don´t know his nic here

Seems like I got the "collectors-virus" from day one, starting with stones and stamps followed by comics and   and "now" toy cars and records.

I´m collecting toy cars for half of my life, started by spending most of my pocket money. I gathered 2000+ cars, acutally I don´t want to count them...

The center of my collection is Matchbox -especially Superfasts.
For new cars I mainly switched to Hot Wheels for not being as "boring" as the new Matchbox became.

Modelwise I´m into dragsters, Hot Rods, racecars and a bit muscle cars.
And especially Opel Manta A and Mercedes W196 Stromlinie.

I´m also doing a bit customising.

Alex

Heya Mad one glad to see another matchbox collector here!    I myself go primarily for the pre superfast lesneys and also enjoy the newer 'real car' type hotwheels.  Hopefully you have some pictures for us??

thank you for the welcome
I will show some pics of my collection

but I have to look for the propper sections, it is sorted a bit different here than in other forums. for example no seperate section for customs/ code 3s which are shown here in the section of their brand.

I´m sorry, not until now.
being in business from 1946 till 1958, I bet they are as rare here as anywhere else.

I have two of them and they do bring pretty good money. They are exquisite. All diecast, most are chrome plated, extremely detailed, of couse, with a very complex clockwork motor. They will do figure 8's, circles, backup, straight lines, and they even have turn signals. They were made in Germany and real hard to find. If you can find one of those over there, consider yourself lucky. Again, welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum... nice to meet you so to speak, the collecting virus is bad and i'm sorry to tell you that there is no real cure to this virus, my reccomendation is to go out weekly and add to your compulsive collecting disorder.
