My other obsession.

Seeing as some of our members have an interest, I took some photos of my model railway. This was started 30 years ago when living at home with my parents, and is still a Work-in-Progress!! When I got married, Mum & Dad did the decent thing and moved out!! As I tell people: I was 34 before my parents left home.
Most of the road vehicles are whitemetal, with the odd resin creeping in. Also one or two diecasts in the last 12 months or so. Unfortunately I see a day when the whitemetal manufacturers give up.

Nile

What a great looking railway!! Is it O Gauge? Very nice.
orinocowomble

No Nile, it's British OO which is 1/76th scale. Fractionally bigger than your HO at 1/87th.

im also quite a fan of oo gauge and have quite a large collection.

youre lay out looks superb by the way and that scebery and detailing really brings it to life

Great stuff!
I don't recognise any of the card buildings (which is unusual because the same ones seem to turn up on everyone's layout - including mine!   ) and wondered if you can remember where you got them from?

I really like the large building in the first picture and would love to have one.

I've always been interested in the buildings more than the trains, to display my cars next to.

I'm currently planning a new project which involves building a European city street alongside a canal, so I'm on the lookout for HO scale apart buildings.

The idea came to me when I saw a seller at a recent toy fair selling HO scale apartment buildings for £5 each, but I didn't know what I could do with them. I decided not to buy them, but later on the idea came into my head and I started kicking myself about not buying them   So now I'm trying to find them on ebay and also hoping that the same seller still has them for sale at the next toy fair I go to.

Really excellent!

Brilliant layout!!

Thats fantastic. I love all the working street lights. Its a very busy town. I dont fancy trying to cross the road though.
Guzzi Gadgy

Very impressive, a lot of work gone into that set up

Great layout, and of course I'd love one, but sadly not enough room to build one. Mind, I wouldn't want to live in those flats above the railway station.     (3rd pic)

Layout

Excellent work. Glad to see the patrons of the railway Inn have had a good time
orinocowomble

Didn't notice, when taking the photos, that someone had over-inebriated some of the patrons. They have since sobered up and gone on their way!
The main station building was scratchbuilt by an elderly friend of mine a few years ago, and the village shops and pub etc were also s/built, and I bought them from a guy in Melbourne who was changing to O gauge. I would have loved to have said I built 'em, but they are far beyond my capabilities. Below is a fairground I am biulding, which at the moment is only about 5 years behind schedule.

Thanks for sharing the pics, only one rather slight problem, that train of milk tankers must be brand new, the ones I can recall from memory were never that clean! They were rusty, and well-weathered, filthy in fact. I was always grateful that they had glass linings, which were sterilised on a regular basis.
