Just to say Hello!

Hello everybody!

Well, I'm from Russia, Moscow. My name is Dmitry and I'm 34.
I have been collecting diecast for about 5 years now, Vanguards in particular and recently I've started collecting Russian cars (in 1/43 of course) as there are new models arrive to the market.
I also do some simple conversions, converting base models to police vehicles.

It's nice to be here!
Gaz

Great to have you join us Dmitry, as long as you have a sense of humor, you should fit in just fine. You'll find there's lots of members who collect Vanguards on here, including myself now. thanks to Bassman

Looking forward to seeing some of your conversions soon.
Duncan

Great to have you with us Dmitry, there is a lot of interest on this forum in Russian vehicles and models.  I have a few and would love to see some of the new models coming onto the market over there.

You are in the right place for Vanguards information too - no shortage of Vanguards collectors here!
keesie25

Hello dimitry, you must post up some of your models, do you have any niva's?

I've been after one for a while and i'd gladly trade a vanguards model or something for one!
kitkatman

Dmitry to the Number 1 International diecast site! Really looking forward to hearing more from you and seeing some of your conversions. Wow, a member from Russia!
ncc1701d

Hi and    from sunny Manchester. ( not )

It might be a bit wet here, but it has to be preferable to a Russian winter.
keesie25

thanks

Thanks for letting us know Gaz. Maybe Dmitry will invite us to come to Russia......

Thank you all!!! I'm pleased very much indeed !!!!!!!!!

Our team did much better this time, although yesterday I was little bit dissapointed

As to my nick, I used to drive Peugeot 206 and keep very warm memories of it. And sure I would be delighted to see you here, there are at least five good model shops in Moscow and one weekly die cast fair (not really good these days though), so you're unlikely to be bored

How can I attach photos here? Shall I upload them to some internet site first??

Spenny

welcome DMITRI, this forum is a brilliant place to find info and to trade, and if any of us can help in any way we will

also i can see you obtaining some vanguards from our recently appointed moderator

do you collect the trucks and military models as well as cars and police vehicles
Guest

Thank you Spenny. I have a few trucks from Cararama. And I bought them only because they were relatively cheap and in British liveries. Since the day I bought the last of them I'm thinking of widening this part of my collection

By the way, yesterday I've seen Jonsons and Bailey Volvo in some quantities in a near store (we call them Hypermarkets - a shop the size of a hangar full of everything for modest prices)
Dave Parker

To you Dmitry. Hypermarket the size of an aircraft hangar? We could do with a few places like that.
Guest

We just can not do anything small    Look at the picture. The street was wide enough before with a boulevard and a tramway line in the middle. Now it's being rebuild with 8 (if I count them right) lanes in each direction.

MISTER C

Nice to see you've got big thing's in Russia, have you seen our vinegar bottle at Blackpool
keesie25

EIGHT lanes? All......going the same way?

Not exactly.  There is a central part for those wishing to get out of the city or reach its central part faster.

Well, suppose you're in lane 1, and you want to get to 8.........you have to start manouvering when that road begins.
MISTER C

Dave Parker

That's it ... let's get all the Parker jokes out of the way ... any more anyone
Guest

There are several passing places but its a nightmare anyway    and the road ends with a bottleneck at the City end There is a different authority outside Moscow which doesn't really bother about the road

I've spent 2.5 hours crowling home through those eight lanes tonight
keesie25

pity

Pity, loss of time. In that period you could have restored a model for the competition.
Guest

I was going to finish a model with a varnish. My first repaint project.

keesie25

fake

Hey Dmitry, those are fake pictures, right?
Duncan

Apart from a few more lanes it looks no different to the traffic I sit in every evening going home since our local council decided to 'improve' the traffic flow through our town.
