Hello from a Newbie in Herts!

Hi Guys,
I have just joined this site, and so far I like what I have seen.

I collect larger scale models (Vanguards, Corgi, Polistil, Anson etc) and am always on the look out for more of the same!

Another of my hobbies is Banger Racing (spectating, not actually racing) and in the last few months I have been making Banger Racing models.
I try and keep as much detail as possible (cut front wings / bumpers, Drivers Dooor Plate, Passenger Plates and Bonnet Triangles, correct sign writing, all windows removed etc).

I have a rule that no model used costs more than £5 (including delivery if bought from eBay, so rest assured that I would never 'banger' a valuable model!

A few of my models are shown below:

Corgi 1:36 scale Jaguar XJS

Vanguards 1:43 scale Rover P4

Corgi 1:36 Scale Jaguar XJ12C

Vanguards 1:43 scale Triumph 2000

Vanguards 1:43 scale Rover P6

I have a few more that I have done if anybody wants to see more!

Oh, and I'malways looking for more models, so if anyone is wanting to sell/swap than drop me a message.

Thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob, welcome to the Forum. Good to have you with us. Looking forward to reading your posts. Spend a bit of time here, and you'll see that we are quite a diverse bunch of friendly collectors.

I too like to do the odd banger, so looking at yours impressed me. They are excellent.

Here's one of mine.

That's a great looking Jag Gaz.

I don't immediately recognise the manufacturer?...and I'm presuming that they are decals / transfers.

Have you any other pictures of cars you've done?
Gaz

Yes Rob, there decals, I'm no good with a brush, my hand wobbles too much

The Jag is a Corgi 1:36 XJ12C and yes, you can see more of my bangers if you click the "Gary's Diecast Drive In" link in my signature at the bottom of this post.
Rob73

Did you change the wheels?
That is what through me off route.
There are 2 or 3 variants of wheels on the Corgi XC12C's but I've never seen that particular style.
Gaz

No, they are the original wheels, just the chrome center cap removed. Once removed, it gives the illusion of wide rims. Just what you want for racing.

Great to see the top quality signwriting you have done on your bangers
