Hello Carl and welcome from the U.S. You are amongst friends.

Hello

G'day from Australia Carl
koenig

Welcome and grrrreetings from Spain!
Andrew

Welcome Carl and in answer to your question - any Corgi that is not riveted has probably been opened up and restored by a previous owner.

Why not go to the Corgi area and show us some pictures?

We like pictures
keesie25

Welcome Carl. A bit late looking at the replies of some other members, but see, I have been busy last night working on restos, so no time for the computer. See, all these guys in here are big talking, and I am the only one working on the hobby.
Also they are warning you about me, but I am not that bad really. In order to Andrews answer about your opened Corgi, if it is not rivited back, but screwed, I probably did that. And if not, I get the blame anyway all the time, so never mind.
We all hope to see your pictures soon!
libertine

thanks all,its ok keesie i wont listen to rumours
heres the pics of the offending car it looks as though corgi may of had a problem when making them so they changed the design.

the cracked window

the change in the chassis

i get them all together (there not very organised) and put some pics up in the approriate thread later
keesie25

Interesting Carl, but not uncommon. In fact, I think we talked about this difference before in the past here. I have she same variations as you have. Now open the bootlids of  both cars, and then take some pictures. In one of them you see the plastic bumper is attached to the metal by two k.n.o.b.s., the other one is unattached.
I think it was done because the bumper fell off.........
Andrew

I didn't know about the different base plate attachment on this model. I have three and they are all riveted. Funnily enough two have exactly the same crack in the rear window as yours has.

libertine

heres some pics but they look exactly the same

i havent got many dinky cars so ill put the pic of them here and ill post up a new thread in general chat for the corgi's, you may have to squint to see them im not the best photographer in the world lol
libertine

thats the one andrew it must of been a problem they ironed out later on, the one i have with the crack looks like they bought it saw the crack and took it back to the shop cause theres not a mark on it same as the box other than a tear in the flap wear it was opened
Andrew

Is that a DUKW in the picture?

My wife and I went on a tour of Boston in one of those last year, great fun going in and out of the harbour (or harbor since it was in the US)
libertine

yeah it is theres a few around britain aswell ive seen a london tour one a while back that goes up and down the river, its been converted into a sort of bus.
keesie25

Ok, here's my two versions. As you see the way the bumpers are attached inside is done in two different ways.
