greetings from the deep dark jungles of borneo

My name is Guy Norris, I’ve been restoring things all my life. Started with the lawnmower at age 12. The fact that it didn’t need it, was neither here nor there, as was the handful of bits left over at the end. would no doubt be of concern to Briggs and Stratton, but it didn’t deter me. After leaving school I spent 6 years in the aircraft trade before going flying. I started restoring dinky toys about two years ago and to date have done around a hundred. I lean towards contemporary Dinky aircraft and military vehicles, but will restore or customize anything that will fit through my workshop door. My other passion is scuba diving, wrecks mainly.

BORNEO?????? Gotta be a first for the Forum - a warm    to you Guy.

thanks Duncan, only place in the world where you can drive at any speed and park anywhere!
Duncan

Can't be too many places like that these days!! Are you from Borneo originally? I suspect now - either that or you had a very good English teacher!
Guest

my parents would never tell me, but my father's English (Norfolk Broads) and my mother comes from New Zealand. (strangly enough i think they met at Oxford)

Excellant..... first class.....time for a spot of lunch!
Duncan

Aircraft isn' really my thing but I love the TV/sci-fi stuff - very nice! You'll do for us!!!!
Guest

What a piece of luck Duncan, i've got most of the dinky jerry anderson sci-fi stuff, which i wasn't into as a kid, my son however loves it. he has his own set (which are all wrecked), but he still prefers to play with mine. i have to keep it hidden away!

the only one i haven't restored is FAB 1. can't seem to get one on evil b. one day perhaps
Gaz

Norri, looks like your settling in just nicely. Looking forward to exchanging posts.
keesie25

FAB 1

Hey Norri, Norrifam does a FAB1 about every week. See:

Maybe, if you say you are a far away relative, you can have a discount.

Getting the hang of it Gaz (mind the bannister son).

so that's where they're all going kessie, i was beginning to wonder....

the only thing you get from being far away, is paying more postage
