I sky+ it Ali, I thought it was fantastic brought back so many memories from my childhood (even thoughI wasnt born till 1977!)
One thing that did make me laugh was the bloke complaining about driving the Cortina 1600E I would rather have that than any bland modern car anyday !!

Typical BBC...
"not available at this time...try again later"
I think they are copying the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC)
for the inability to show previous programs.
Happens all the time over here!!
It's 8:07 pm here or 1:07 am GMT.
Surely the site isn't being overwhelmed at this time!!!!
Cheers and I'll try again later

Aghhh!, I missed recording the first episode. It looks great Ali, I'll watch it later on tonight when I have a bit more time. I'll record the other episodes, but I would have rather watched the first one on the TV screen.

As Gaz says I would have preferred to watch it on TV myself but missed it
Watching it thinking about it I would be very happy going back in time only problem is I wouldn't have my computer which I would probably find hard to go without now
Mobile phone maybe a slight issue but I used manage without one
But the rest of it I would be happy with I am sure

Well Ive just watched It and enjoyed every minute of It. I remember my chopper bike and our first Music centre. It was a Sanyo Olympic12. It was really posh and had a smoke coloured perspex top.

Cought this on beeb 4 that night , I know what you mean about watching BBC stuff online though as because im on AOL it redirects me to Internet Explorer , which I despise so I usually dont bother. But this Tuesday at 9pm its the 80s which if its the same (anoying) family should be trivial . As for the Dad of the family treating the Corty 1600E like it was out of the dark ages , a little bit of snow and he jumped in his Discovery/LR3 .
I wonder if the next one will deal with dare i say it BETAMAX as that was our first video recorder back in the day ,Ive still got it and it works! I even had a Sinclair Spectrum (rubber keyed original) and I hated that thing so much I swore I never have another computer. Fifteen years later I became a circuit board test engineer for Compaq

I have just linked to and watched this online and boy, was it good. I shall watch the next part tomorrow evening. I loved the Cortina, and the Commodore Pet brought back early computing memories for me, (my first computer was a Commodore 64).
I would miss my modern system now, but that Hoover was very similar to the one I still use, the music centre I remember well (I still have cassettes and records), and, I think that the ability to be able to live in the past, present, and look forward to the future is what makes most of us humans "special".

I've just watched all the programme via the link, and it was wonderful, should have been BBC1 material at least. It brought back loads of memories, and it was interesting that the family found that although they missed the tech gadgets of today, they actually found themselves having a better life and relationship with each other back then.
I would love to see a whole series on the seventies house ...
