Just be very careful folks of these 'charity' collections. A lot of them are bogus - just a bunch of villains who SELL what you give them to eastern europe. The best way to give goods or clothes to charities is to take 'em to a charity shop.

Chris to be honest the only bag we fill is for the Air Ambulance. A program on the tele showed a red van going around before the official collection vehicle, when questioned he said he was doing nothing illegal just removing rubbish from the side of the road

I have been doing the big York Racecourse bootfair most Saturdays this year, and you would be amazed at how many unmarked transit vans are there selling old clothes. Piles of them on tarpaulin's on the ground, 50p an item. It's not hard to figure out where they are getting them all from ...

The correct medical term for those "little beer bellies" is distended bellies. The condition is caused by starvation and malnutrition.
It isn't really a joke believe me.

I'm the same as Guzzi Gadgy, I only give to the air ambulance, I wait for their vehicle to turn up and hand it to them personally.
I know most of you can't do that because of work, but I'm retired so it's easy for me.

I only give to the PDSA and the RNIB. My local Hospice gets my money for CD's, and Vinyl when they have something worth buying. Other than this, "Charity", as my old Mum used to say, "begins at home and ends in the workhouse!"

We had an old bloke collecting for the Children's Hospice a few months ago on our dorrstep, which is a first. And in the pub last night, there was a woman collecting for a charity.

I'm so glad this point has been brought up because I am sick of getting those begging plastic bags through the door. We get 2 or 3 PER WEEK! It could be because we live in the 'affluent' South East but let me tell you who I see picking the bags up....
No matter which 'charity' the bag says it's from, it's the very same unmarked white Transit that collects. OK, you say, it might be done by a collection firm but wait a second... it's driven by a well dressed fat bloke with his equally fat and well dressed missus who does the picking up. Also in the van is an obviously pedigree Staffordshire terrier.
Tell me they are genuine? No way.
Edit: Don't throw the bags away, they are great for picking up dog poo!

An optimist would say half full, a pesimist would say half empty but an engineer would ask why make it so big in the first place
