And The Junkyard Lives OnEven here in this resort there is something interesting for empassioned old car and truck enthusiasts. Gaz would be interested in this. I went for walk, discovered another lagoon or slough and this little photographic gem. It is approximately a 1955 White flatbed truck. The Florida vegetation has taken over possession inside and out. The cab is completely overgrown. But one thing even with the out of control plantlife there are several coffee cups. I wonder when it last ran. The engine is where the driver's butt is. There is a gear selector and there is no clutch so, it is an automatic transmission drive. The emergency brake sure is prominent.

Great pictures Nile, thanks  How has the vegitation got into the cab? I aslo noticed that the truck can't be too old as it has cloth seats, and that handbrake looks pretty akward to work. 
Does that badge say White?

As nile can confirm, White was a U.S truck maker, although that must be one of their smaller models. Are the front wheels original?? They seem so small!

Funny you said that about the wheels. I thought the very same thing when I discovered it sitting out in the weeds. The floorboard is all rotted out for the plantlife to emerge all over the inside. When I passed the last travel trailer before getting to this old truck, the lady in the trailer said watch out for the alligators and the snakes. Just beyond the truck is another slough that is not very tame looking. Probably lots of 'gators in there.

Anybody ever do a Code 3 1:1? Well, I just talked to the guy that owns this park about his truck sitting back in the weeds. I asked him what year it was and he said a 1947. Then I said I noticed it had automatic transmission and I didn't think that was available in 1947. He said OK, let me correct that. The cab is a 1947 White with a 1970 Dodge chassis. That explains the Automatic transmission. He built it himself.

White was a prominent truck manufacturer. My Dad drove one. They eventually merged with Volvo and became an even larger company. There are lots of them on the highways in the U.S.
